Lipo-Zyme is a granulated fat source combination of phospholipids & Lipase (enzyme). It is most commonly used as feed ingredient in the of poultry and swine.
By nature, animals does not utilize fat completely, especially if animal fat & mixed fat added into the diet. By adding lipase into the feed, the utilization of fat can be improved.
With the increased fat addition in the mono-gastric animal’s diet, its digestibility decreases rapidly. For example, when the addition of fat reaches 3%, compared with the addition 1.5%, the digestibility decreases by 15-25%. This is due to excessive addition that surpasses the animals digestive ability. Also, anti-nutrient factors such as Tannin & Phytic acid from other source presence in the diet is able to decrease the activity of lipase.
Therefore, fortified lipase in the diet of the animals will ease the digestibility of fats.
